It's tough for Australia to break new ground.

The greatest achievements have long been mastered.

This is the squad that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to six more T20 titles, and once went over three years undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, targeted by the peak baggers, are what's still available for a side that has won it all.

That it took up to Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to accomplish their maiden ODI chase exceeding 300, reclaiming their record for the highest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, frankly, a compliment to the bowlers that have represented Australia over five decades.

It's challenging for their batters to hold a record if not afforded the opportunity.

That loss "motivated us to reevaluate our levels," Healy stated recently.

At the following one-day championship in New Zealand, Healy hit 170 against England in the final and was awarded tournament MVP. She ensured her country would not come up short.

The question of whether this latest epic knock topped that previous effort can be debated.

Certain people claim the reasoning behind final game tension. Some might respond with the challenge that comes when pursuing an unprecedented total and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What's clear is this century was much more difficult to predict.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 came as she led the batting statistics, but this innings came after six matches in India over the past few weeks in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"If you've observed me in the nets, it was a challenging time because it seemed my form was missing whatsoever," stated Healy.

"However when you take the field, your fighting spirit activate and you simply focus on the contest."

Healy's fighting spirit has consistently been her major advantage - and an invaluable trait in taking over from legendary former captain Meg Lanning.

She was tormented by India's rising star Kranti Gaud in the previous month's ODI series, out to the young fast bowler in each encounter, but on this occasion it simply offered Healy's inspiration.

A single was taken off Gaud's first delivery and after that Healy was on her way.

"A chance to go out there and engage in competition with her and just have a bit of fun in that aspect, somewhat inspired me," stated Healy.

In recent days a belief they will triumph from any situation has grown stronger - this victory coming after victory over Pakistan by 107 run margin despite struggling at 76-7 at a certain moment.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before an encounter with old rivals England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a semi-final berth may likely be confirmed.

During that phase they left last year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - a game Healy missed because of torn tissue in her foot as she guided Australia for the initial instance at a significant event.

So strong is her resolve, she subsequently stated she wished she had played despite the injury.

But while she subsequently acknowledged those injuries have postponed thoughts of retirement, this championship is likely to be her last as captain in ODI cricket and she is hasn't yet secured a world championship as skipper.

Victory in India would take her to the summit of her ultimate challenge.
